Jon grew up among turtles, bugs and snakes in Florida. Like his crawling friends, he feels most at home in the outdoors. The natural world later would become the backdrop in the exploration of body image and masculinity. His experiences with bullying and lacking a positive male role model growing up generated questions he explores today with his photography. Other topics he has investigated include the important issue of loneliness on his blog, Lonely Mythos. His artistic work has been exhibited in solo and group shows and film festivals.
Jon now calls Colorado home. His turtle and rescue cat are constantly amazed at his creations. He has yet to find a snake taking up residence under his refrigerator, which was often the case back in Florida. He and his pets nevertheless remain ever vigilant.
